I found Move Well Collective on ClassPass. I love when places accept ClassPass because it makes the class a lot cheaper.
I found the place with ease. I got a front row parking spot in front of the building. I don't really feel comfortable walking that far in this area, so that's good I could find close parking. I walked up to the building and noticed there's a few stairs and no ramp. Most people who do yoga can climb stairs tho.
Inside, there were a bunch of hammocks hanging from the ceiling. We were all getting comfortable with our hammocks. I asked the instructor if this would support my weight. I am 200 pounds! The instructor said it can hold up to 800 pounds, each hammock. That made me feel a lot more comfortable putting my weight on that thing.
We were encouraged to do a few different yoga moves with the hammock as a prop. The instructor made sure to let us know that we could modify whatever we wanted. She told us to do what feels good and don't do what doesn't feel good! I love that because I have a lot of pain that feels so good to get stretched out in yoga.
This class did not disappoint. I definitely feel stretched out. The instructor was really sweet. The place was easily locatable. I liked it a lot and I will be back with friends next time!

This studio is one of the few in the area that deeply understands the relationship between the body and the mind and how our personal histories can deeply impact our experiences in our bodies. I've been to the space multiple times and am surprised by the changes and offerings every time I go. Dr. Cat is incredibly nurturing and knowledgeable and has chosen her team well. I look forward to going back for many more classes and workshops!

I had PT with Move Well Collective’s owner, Cat Lewan, for several years. Cat’s integration of wellness practices with standard PT treatment was incredibly beneficial and empowering. She has a wealth of knowledge on the body, movement, and different modalities (and is consistently expanding on that knowledge!), and she shares that knowledge in such an accessible way. I have also worked with other practitioners Cat has trained and recommended; I would highly recommend Cat and would trust anyone she chooses to work with!

This was my first time taking a class using aerial silks, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone. Dr. Catherine and Zach both gave great, enabling instructions that encouraged safe stretching and tons of fun. The unique combination of yoga flow/conditioning and the aerial silks transformed familiar asanas into unique and thoughtfully thorough physical expressions.

I took an aerial yoga class at this studio. It was so much fun! The instructor made me feel really welcome. I was able to explore at my own pace and was encouraged to listen to my own body. I highly recommend this space. The space itself is right downtown Charleston with ample street parking. The studio is pretty spacious with hardwood floors.

The Aerial Yoga and Conditioning class is OUT OF THIS WORLD, and I will absolutely go again (and again!). Dr. Cat is incredibly knowledgeable, thoughtful, and an excellent teacher. She made many adjustments for me that made each new posture feel fun/safe/freeing. Zach is an excellent teacher as well, and always puts together amazing classes. This studio is beautiful and completely stocked with everything you could ever need. The experience is one of a kind in the Charleston area, and everyone could benefit from it and enjoy it. Highly recommend!

Move Well Collective is a group of knowledgeable and talented instructors with unique offerings to improve mobility, fitness, and overall wellbeing to a variety of clientele. It is an intimate and well-equipped space, so you will receive keen and effective personal attention from the instructors.
The owner, Dr. Cat Lewan, is a doctor of physical therapy, certified yoga therapist, and active investigator conducting research with MUSC. She is able to put her knowledge into practice with clients and help chart an individual path to improved wellness.
Their team also features practitioners of yoga, Thai massage, strength training, and corrective holistic kinesiology as well as several students training for doctorates in physical therapy. While I can’t speak to the strengths of each of these individuals from personal experience, I know they have excellent certifications, experience, and leadership.
I have taken several yoga anatomy classes with Dr. Cat and they were extremely enlightening, helping me to better understand proper engagement & alignment in postures & transitions and so much more. I have also worked with Zach Pritchett, and can say his yoga classes are an incredible low-impact practice to help unlock your mobility; he also has a thorough knowledge of strength training. Finally, last week I took the Aerial Yoga and Conditioning class with both Dr. Cat and Zach, and I must say it was an absolute revelation in movement and cannot wait to do it again!
